Co-creation at the Centre for Advanced Clinical Simulation One of the strategic lines of work of the Vall d’Hebron Centre for Advanced Clinical Simulation is co-creation, understood within the framework of public-private collaboration with companies and/or institutions. Through these collaborations, the Centre promotes the creation and assessment of new healthcare and teaching techniques, as well as the co-development, performance assessments, usability and user experience of new simulators and electromedical equipment. SIMOONS The first co-creation project SIMOONS is the first co-creation project of the Vall d’ Hebron Centre for Advanced Clinical Simulation, in collaboration with the company PsicoVR. SIMOONS (Serious game for online training with health simulation) is a platform that allows remote training of multidisciplinary teams for patient care in various clinical scenarios. Share it New simulators Vall d’Hebron University Hospital has a long history in the co-creation of different simulators, which have also involved the participation of the Vall d’ Hebron Research Institute (VHIR). SIMULATOR Hybrids VITA Simulator that allows training for ECMO therapies and which is integrated with patient simulators and audiovisual/debriefing systems, also adaptable for workshops without a dummy. Allows for the adjustments to flow and pressures and changes the colour of the blood. It has a built-in mechanical ventilation and is adaptable to various cannulation strategies (femoral, jugular and double lumen). Includes a scenario module based on ELSO guides. The simulator was developed under the scientific leadership of Dr Jordi Riera, an intensive care doctor and director of the ECMO Adult Programme at Vall d’ Hebron University Hospital and researcher of the ‘Shock, Organ Dysfunction and Resuscitation’ group at the Vall d’ Hebron Research Institute (VHIR), in collaboration with the company Medical Simulator S.L. SIMULATOR FLOWCAT Neurovascular model Experimental system that simulates arterial occlusions that cause ischaemic strokes. For training and research, the FLOWCAT model allows different techniques and devices used in endovascular treatment to be trained and researched to optimise clinical results. The simulator includes an anatomical model of supra-aortic arteries, transfemoral and transradial access tracks, thrombus analogues, and a circulatory system that replicates brain haemodynamics. It was developed under the scientific leadership of Dr Marc Ribó, an interventional neurologist at Vall d’ Hebron University Hospital and researcher of the ‘Stroke Research’ group at Vall d’ Hebron Research Institute. SIMULATOR Winco USG Simulator that allows training and quantifying the level of precision with which punctures and any ultrasound-guided interventional medical procedure are performed, notably radiofrequency tumour ablation. The simulator was developed under the scientific leadership of Dr Xavier Serres, a radiologist at Vall d’ Hebron University Hospital, specialising in the field of interventional ultrasound, in collaboration with the company Medical Simulator S.L.
