The Prenatal Diagnosis Unit of the Obstetrics and Reproductive Endocrinology Department at Vall d'Hebron University Hospital, in collaboration with the Clinical Genetics Department, performs all actions aimed at detecting congenital defects, including prenatal genetic counseling for couples at risk due to a previous history and the assessment of the necessary studies for chromosomal risk derived from biochemical, ultrasound, or combined screening.

The Advanced Training in Prenatal Diagnosis program is an observer-based training activity that provides specialists with expanded knowledge in the field of Fetal Medicine. They will assist with highly qualified professionals in invasive procedures for detecting congenital defects performed in a tertiary care center (amniocentesis, chorionic villus sampling, cordocentesis).
