Children's Hospital
Pediatric anesthesia constitutes a specific area within the specialty of Anesthesiology and Resuscitation, encompassing not only preoperative anesthesia for surgical procedures, but also for non-surgical, interventional, and diagnostic procedures. The pathophysiology of children has necessitated the development of techniques adapted to this patient group and the design of specific materials for the pediatric group, tailored and different for each need the specialist must address.
The Advanced Training Program in Pediatric Anesthesia at Vall d'Hebron Hospital is an observer-level training program that aims to provide the tools needed for anesthesiology specialists to offer the necessary quality care to pediatric patients from the outset, rather than based solely on experience or the recommendations of the main scientific societies in the field.
