Dona embarassada a la consulta de medicina

The Fetal Medicine Unit (FMU) treats fetal pathologies (malformations, infections, fetal transfusions between twins, etc.) using advanced obstetric ultrasound, neurosonography, and echocardiography. One of the most interesting elements is fetal surgery, especially in cases of fetal transfusion between twins, with very good results.

The Advanced Training in Fetal Medicine program is an observer-based training activity that offers specialists the foundations of Maternal and Fetal Medicine in a tertiary center with highly qualified professionals and the standard procedures for treating at-risk pregnant women. It also provides a focus on research, one of the fundamental pillars of the Obstetrics and Reproductive Endocrinology Service at Vall d'Hebron University Hospital.
