Procediment d'Ecmo a l'Hospital Vall d'Hebron

Since 2009, with the publication of the CESAR study (Efficacy and Economic Assessment of Conventional Ventilatory Support Versus Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation for Severe Adult Respiratory Failure (CESAR): Lancet, 2009) and the emergence of the H1N1 pandemic, the use of ECMO support in critically ill adult patients has increased exponentially. It is an extremely complex technique, used in cases where standard therapy is insufficient to ensure life support, with a high risk of serious complications, and requiring the participation of a multidisciplinary team of specifically trained professionals.

The Advanced ECMO Training is a training program for observers, oriented toward a multidimensional approach, based on specific objectives and the criteria established by the ELSO Society.
