I'm the Responsible of the Bioinformatics Platform of the Statistics and Bioinformatics Unit (UEB) at Vall d'Hebron Institut de Recerca (VHIR).

Curriculum

I graduated in Biotechnology at the Autonomous University of Barcelona (2006) and completed the master's degree in Advanced Immunology at the Autonomous University of Barcelona / University of Barcelona and the master's degree in Bioinformatics and Biostatistics at the University of Barcelona / Open University of Catalonia. I have also taken numerous specialization courses to expand my training in the fields of data analysis, bioinformatics and statistics. During my scientific career, I have dedicated myself to research in the field of biomedicine integrating different tools in vivo and in silico. I did my doctoral thesis at the Barcelona Center for International Health Research, currently ISGlobal (2012), and then did a three-year postdoctoral stay at the National Center for Scientific Research (CNRS) in Montpellier, France, to study the mechanisms of dimerization of the HIV genome using advanced microscopy techniques. Since 2018, I have been working in the Statistics and Bioinformatics Unit (UEB) of the Vall d'Hebron Research Institute (VHIR), to provide bioinformatics support to doctors and researchers in problems related to bioinformatics. In my day to day, I perform bioinformatics and statistical analyzes mainly related to omics (NGS, microarray, HT-qPCR ...) and clinical data, as well as the technological monitoring and development of new tools and procedures ("pipelines") related with bioinformatics. I have a keen interest in developing integrative strategies to help answer questions of biomedical interest.
