I am a Molecular Biologist with more than 8 years of research experience. My first works were in preclinical assays of cytotoxicity and genotoxicity of natural extracts. Later, I continued working on the study of the molecular mechanism of resistance to Pyrazinamide in Mycobacterium tuberculosis. Currently, as a predoctoral researcher, I am studying the relationship between the severity of COVID-19 and male sex, focusing on the role of Testosterone in the immune response.

Curriculum

I earned my bachelor's degree in 2012 as a Biologist, from that date I have worked as a research assistant in different laboratories. My first experience was in the Traditional medicine and pharmacology Laboratory, where I acquired experience in conducting in vitro and in vivo assays with cell cultures and animals.
In 2015 I was accepted in the Bioinformatics and Molecular Biology Laboratory at Universidad Peruana Cayetano Heredia (UPCH), where I acquired experience in gene cloning, protein expression and purification, as well as bioinformatic analyses. In 2018 I traveled to Barcelona for a short internship in the IBMB-CSIC institute to study mechanisms of drug resistance in the treatment of breast cancer.
In 2019 I have finished the master’s degree in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at UPCH, after that I traveled to Barcelona to continue my formation. Currently I am a pre-doctoral student in Vall d´hebron research Institute.
