Red Blood Cell Disorders Unit Head, Haematology department. Coordinator of the XUEC of Non-Oncological Hematological Diseases in Adults, CSUR Coordinator of Hereditary Erythropathology, Adults and Pediatrics, Member of the CSUR of Congenital Bone Marrow Failures Syndromes (Adults and Pediatrics) and Substitute Representative of the ERN- EuroBloodNet (rare anemias and Bone Marrow Failure syndromes subnetworks). Clinical Confirmation Unit of the Neonatal Screening Program for Sickle Cell Disease of Catalonia. Collaboration with ORPHANET, TIF, ASAFE, ALHETA, Blackfan Diamond Anemia, HPN, ADISCON. Participating in continuing education, pre- and postgraduate teaching, leads clinical trials in this area of knowledge and participates in different research projects, both nationally and in Europe.

Curriculum

Working in the Red Blood Cell Disorders Unit since 2003 and head of it since 2006, both in laboratory diagnosis and in clinical care, increasing the diagnostic capacity of red blood cell disorders, both acquired and hereditary, being reference at the level of Catalonia, Spain and Europe, for these pathologies.
Coordinator of the XUEC of Non-Oncological Hematological Diseases in Adults, CSUR Coordinator Hereditary Erythropathology, Adults and Pediatrics, Member of the CSUR of Congenital Bone Marrow Failure Syndromes (Adults and Pediatrics) and representative and substitute of the ERN- EuroBloodNet (rare anemias and Bone Marrow Failure syndromes subnetworks)(Adults and Pediatrics). Clinical Confirmation Unit of the Neonatal Sickle Cell Disease Screening Program of Catalonia.
Co-coordinator of the clinical committees: Hereditary Erythropathology Committee, Congenital Bone Marrrow Failure Syndromes Committee and Integrated Diagnosis Committee in Erythropathology. Committees involving other departments.
The unit participates in continuing education in red blood cell disorders both in the red blood cell disorders course of the Catalan Society of Haematology and Haemotherapy and in the red blood cell disorders Group of the Spanish Society of Haematology and Haemotherapy, as well as in different training courses in other centres. It participates in the undergraduate teaching of medical students, as well as post-graduate teaching (MIR training in the specialties of Haematology, Biochemistry and Clinical Analysis.
Leads clinical trials in this area of knowledge, and participates in different research projects, both nationally and Europeanly.
