Predoctoral Researcher at the Liver Diseases - Viral Hepatitis Research group. Bachelor's degree in Biotechnology and MSc in Translational Biomedical Research by the Vall d'Hebron Institute of Research Fundation. Currently working as a PhD Student at the Liver diseases-Viral hepatitis research group and studying at the PhD program of Biochemistry, Molecular Biology and Biomedicine of Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona. My studies are focused on the evolution of viral quasispecies of SARS-CoV-2 in the most prevalent variants in Barcelona city over the pandemics, thanks to next generation sequencing (MiSeq and Nextseq2000 Illumina platforms), and how these viral quasispecies are involved with clinical and epidemiological purposes.

Curriculum

I studied a Biotechnology degree at the Rovira i Virgili University in Tarragona, Spain. I followed my training during an internship at the Liver Diseases - Viral Hepatitis from VHIR, leaded by Dr. Josep Quer. Finally, I did the TFG in collaboration with Dr. Quer's group which was named "Características genéticas y variabilidad del SARS-CoV-2, agente causal de la COVID-19"

Afterwards, I studied the Traslational Biomedical Research Master by the VHIR and the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB), where I worked as liscenced technician at the Liver Diseases - Viral Hepatitis research group. During this internship at Vall d'Hebron, I wrote my TFM named as "SARS-CoV-2: study of solubility of spike truncated protein (S1) and ongoing viral adaptation in new emerging variants". Furthermore, I worked as an active participant in several competitive projects related to the genomic study of Hepatitis C Virus (HCV) and SARS-CoV-2 variability.

Currently I keep working at the VHIR as PhD student of the Biochemistry, Molecular Biology and Biomedicine PhD Program from the UAB at the Liver Diseases - Viral Hepatitis research group. My PhD thesis is focused on the study of expression, localization and solubility in cell culture of the spike truncated protein of SARS-CoV-2 formed merely by the subunit 1. In addition to the in vitro research, I also study the variability of S gen in different SARS-CoV-2 variants and the adaptation trough human population following the depp-sequencing methodology, thanks to Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) techniques.
