La fundació es va constituir amb l'objecte fundacional següent: retornar a la societat el benefici obtingut pels fundadors a conseqüència dels serveis mèdics prestats per la seguretat social i, de manera concreta, per l'hospital de la Vall d'Hebron i el seu personal tècnic i sanitari, a Inés Arnaiz, la seva filla menor, nascuda amb una transposició de grans vasos, una cardiopatia congènita incompatible amb la vida, que va rebre atenció prenatal i postnatal, sent operada amb èxit i reparada de la seva cardiopatia.
