El premi reconeix la seva tasca a l’Hospital en la lluita contra l’epidèmia i l’estudi que està impulsant sobre les seqüeles de la COVID-19.
El Dr. Xavier Muñoz, pneumòleg del Servei de Pneumologia de l’Hospital Universitari Vall d’Hebron i investigador principal del grup de recerca en Pneumologia del Vall d’Hebron Institut de Recerca (VHIR), ha estat reconegut com a Ripollès de l’Any 2020 per la seva tasca a l’Hospital en la lluita contra l’epidèmia i l’estudi que està impulsant sobre les seqüeles de la COVID-19.
El guardó s’ha atorgat a l’onzena edició d’entrega dels premis Ripollès Líders 2020, que es va dur a terme el 26 de febrer a l’església de Sant Pere de Ripoll. El premi Ripollès de l’Any és el guardó més representatiu d’entre tots els que es van donar durant la gala. L’acte va comptar amb la presència de la consellera de la Presidència en funcions de la Generalitat, Meritxell Budó, l'alcalde de Ripoll, Jordi Munell, i l’alcaldessa de Ribes de Freser, Mònica Sanjaume.
