Els esportistes han portat somriures i regals als petits ingressats a l’Hospital Infantil Vall d’Hebron per donar suport al Projecte Luca
El jugador de bàsquet Pierre Oriola i els exjugadors Jordi Trias i Víctor Sada, amics de The Ricky Rubio Foundation, han realitzat una emotiva visita a l’Hospital Infantil Vall d’Hebron per donar suport al Projecte Luca. Els jugadors han intercanviat somriures i impressions amb els nens hospitalitzats a les diferents plantes. Tots tres són amics de The Ricky Rubio Foundation, creada pel jugador de bàsquet dels Phoenix Suns Ricky Rubio, que ha donat la benvinguda als assistents des dels Estats Units amb un vídeo.
El Projecte Luca deu el seu nom a Luca de la Vega, un nen tractat de càncer amb el qual Ricky Rubio va entrar en contacte fa dos anys. Ricky Rubio va oferir suport motivacional a Luca durant el tractament a través de missatges i videoconferències. A més, Ricky Rubio va convidar Luca a veure un partit de l’NBA com a estímul per reforçar la seva lluita contra la malaltia. L’experiència de Ricky Rubio va ser tan positiva que ha volgut institucionalitzar aquest suport a través de la seva fundació de la mà de l’Hospital Universitari Vall d’Hebron i el Departament de Salut. Gràcies al Projecte Luca, tres pacients oncològics menors d’edat de Vall d’Hebron es beneficiaran del suport motivacional de Ricky Rubio i Luca, i podran viatjar als Estats Units per presenciar un partit de l’NBA de Ricky Rubio.
La Dra. Rocío Cebrián, Subdirectora Assistencial Quirúrgica i de Crítics de Vall d’Hebron, i Maria Ángeles Aceituno, Adjunta a la Direcció d’Infermeria, han donat la benvinguda als esportistes. Pierre Oriola, Jordi Trias i Víctor Sada han visitat els pacients de Nefrologia, Cirurgia Cardíaca i Cirurgia Pediàtrica, així com els de l’Hospital de Dia Oncològic i l’Hospital de Dia Polivalent. Els jugadors han entregat regals a mesura que avançaven per les diferents habitacions i espais. Tant els nens com les seves famílies han rebut la seva visita amb il·lusió i alegria.
