L’Hospital Vall d’Hebron rep diferents acreditacions de la Xarxa Catalana d’Hospitals sense Fum en diferents categories, totes en molt bona posició. L’Hospital General i l’Hospital de Traumatologia es mantenen un any més en el Nivell Or, mentre que l’Hospital Universitari MaternoInfantil Vall d’Hebron aconsegueix pujar de nivell fins a Nivell Argent, optant al Nivell Or. El tant per cent d’hospitals adherits a la xarxa que aconsegueixen la categoria d’Or és del 9,7%.
L’anàlisi del compromís dels hospitals per evitar el fum del tabac als centres s’efectua cada tres anys, i els criteris que s’utilitzen per a realitzar aquesta acreditació segueixen el sistema d'avaluació i els indicadors del model proposat per l’ENSH-Global Network for Tobacco free Hospitals. Segons aquest, el grau de compliment s’estableix en cinc nivells: Membre, Bronze, Argent, Argent amb menció Or.
