El Servei d’Aparell Digestiu de l’Hospital Universitari Vall d’Hebron ha renovat la seva certificació com a centre de formació europeu en Gastroenterologia i Hepatologia fins al 2020.
La European Board of Gastroenterology and Hepatology (EBGH) ha tornat a acreditar Vall d’Hebron com un dels centres europeus capaç de formar especialistes en aparell digestiu, i, al mateix temps, acreditar-los a Europa. D’aquesta manera, es converteix en l’únic centre reconegut per l’EBGH a Catalunya, dels dos que hi ha a l’Estat.
Durant dos dies, el Servei d’Aparell Digestiu va ser avaluat per l’EBGH per poder validar que compleix els requisits europeus de formació. Al ser acreditat, els residents mèdics poden optar al títol europeu si compleixen una sèrie de condicions.
La Junta Europea de Gastroenterologia i Hepatologia (per les seves sigles en anglès) va ser fundada el 1992 com un grup de treball que depenia de la Unió Europea d’Especialistes Mèdics (UEMS). Els seus objectius clau són establir i avaluar els estàndards de formació en Gastroenterologia i Hepatologia a Europa, promoure l’intercanvi de gastroenteròlegs i hepatòlegs en formació i recopilar i analitzar les dades demogràfiques i estadístiques dels treballadors en Gastroenterologia i Hepatologia.
