Sra. Ana Jimenez Romero
I am a Biotechnologist and master in Translational Biomedical Research. My main experience is focused on biological samples of human origin processing, nucleic acid isolation and other molecular biology techniques. Currently, I develop my activity as a laboratory technician in the Biobank HUVH, where my work eases the translation between clinical attendance and research.
Curriculum
I joined the Biobank HUVH in mid-2020, where I continue developing my professional career.
My training started with the Higher Education in Clinical Laboratory Technician in 2014. In 2018, I graduated in Biotecnology by Universitat de Girona and in 2019 I finished my Master's degree in Translational Biomedical Research by Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona.
I've had the opportunity to stay in laboratories with different research focuses, from the Molecular Genetics Department in Hospital Clínic de Barcelona (2013), to the Neurovascular Diseases Research Group in VHIR (2018-2019).
Currently, my activity in the Biobank HUVH is focused on the management of biological samples of human origin, from their reception and registration, to their storage and cession or shipment for different research projects and other studies. In addition, we also collaborate in the development of clinical trials, and we perform the isolation of nucleic acids (DNA and RNA) and peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs), among other services.
