Curriculum
Senior Computational Biologist with more than 15 years of experience in the field of bioinformatics. He joined GRR at VHIR in 2018 where he is responsible for the development and implementation of high-throughput data analytical pipelines. For the past 10 years, Dr. Gomez has focused on the analysis of omics data (expression, proteomics and methylation) from a gene translation point of view. Dr Gómez obtained his Ph.D. in Bioinformatics from the Autonomous University of Barcelona (Spain, 2007). In 2011 he joined Manel Esteller’s lab in IDIBELL, where he was involved in the bioinformatic analysis of studies of epigenetic biomarkers in cancer and other diseases. In 2014, he joined Thomas Graf’s lab as Senior Bioinformatician in the 4D Genome Project in the context of hematopoietic stem cell differentiation and reprogramming. He has published more than 70 publications in high impact journals. Dr. Gómez is also visiting professor at Vic’s University (UVIC- Catalonia’s Central University) and Epigenomics coordinator in the MSc in Omics Data Analysis at the same university.
