Smoke-Free Campus

Vall d’Hebron Barcelona Hospital Campus is aiming to become a smoke-free healthcare campus, through the application of smoking prevention and control measures and the promotion of healthy activities and environments.

Project description

We have been committed to the Catalonia Smoke-Free Hospitals Network since 2002. As a promoter of health, there is an active policy that aims to ensure a smoke-free environment for users and professionals at the centre.

The Campus is totally committed to health, which is why it is an accredited smoke-free centre and a Gold Forum Member 2017 of the Global Network for Tobacco-Free Healthcare Services.

Commitment

The regulation on smoke-free spaces is based on Law 42/2010 of 30 December, modifying Law 28/2005 of 26 December, on healthcare measures relating to smoking and the regulation of the sale, supply, consumption and advertising of tobacco products.

In compliance with the smoke-free policy, and as part of the Quality Plan, the Campus has a Central Operations Committee, whose mission is “to ensure compliance with the regulations on smoke-free spaces in healthcare centres and their surroundings. The promotion of actions to make the Hospital an environment that promotes health and prevents disease”.
